Otra vez mal, Wordle.

"Benevolent Dictatorship" sounds about right.

Rumpole of the Bailey often referred to his wife Hilda as "She who must be obeyed...", which I always found to be sensible advice.

Hi Avoca, now you Ozzies like a good argument especially with a Pom. Mostly the most trivial topics where the first one to laugh loses.😀
I met a lady well actually a young girl, well old enough anyway. I used to take the other side of any 'discussion' and we have been married now these 63 years.

However, she, her, my missus, worked out that if 'it', was just done, there was no argument, and I have lived with this benevolent dictatorship ever since! We settled down to what we each do best. She chooses and selects where we live, which house and holiday destinations and she is good at it too. No regrets whatever. I was a manager at work and just blended in when I got home, reading bed time stories was a treat for me.
Ah! Those were the days, our son was 60 last year and our daughter 2 years behind, so it was a long while ago.

Mmmm, well, only really one way not to be caught alive by jumping into a billabong I would suggest.

And anyway, Roy, its a folkloreish song, not a coronial inquest, give me a break already...

Up jumped the swagman, leapt into the billabong,
You'll never catch me alive, said he,

For the most part, most are. But not all.

In the song "Waltzing Matilda", the sheep(jumbuck) stealing 'swagman' jumps into to a billabong and drowns to avoid capture by "...the troopers, one, two, three...".

Mainly a low lying area that connects two parts of the same river, usually at a bend, during floods, also the breeding ground for most native fish.

So, very much alive.

Another day, another whinge about Wordle.

Ummm, by their nature, aren't ALL fish predatory? I bet they are to whatever food they eat.

And, a 'shark' is the only predatory fish around here, as far as I know, and that doesn't fit.

So, once again, I yield.

Sure do, now, take that movie and pump it full of steroids.
Remove the proper military command, replace with unqualified, sychophantic, idiots and a zillion times more firepower, and we arrive at 2026.
I just hope there is a director somewhere ready to say..."Cut".

Totally agree Avoca👍
However disgruntled one might be with his social situation and circumstances
how on earth could he come to believe that a self-serving, narcissistic, senile old man would significantly improve matters?
I'm afraid it reminds me of an infamous man who rose to supreme power in central Europe in the 1930s.
He promised work and prosperity for his citizens (at least those with the right genes!) and that in time 'they would not recognize' their country.
As they crawled out of their bunkers and cellars of destroyed homes in 1945 the remaining citizens saw that he had kept his promise!
Posthumously!

From my perspective, AI is just another tech bubble, about to burst!

Example, OpenAI(ChatGPT) announced plans to build 30,000(?) new Data Centres in North America by 2030!

Fact.

A 1 gigawatt(GW) Data Centre, which is a very basic centre, requires the output of a top-end Nuclear Power Plant (typically ~750-900MW) to function.

In the past 30 years, the US has built less than 5 such Nuclear Power Plants.

Therefore, OpenAI, just one AI company, still has to find the equivalent of 29,995 Nuclear Power Plants worth of power, in North America alone, just to start with.

Its hype, its a scam, it can't be sustained, and communities have already had a gut-full of having these Data Centre's dropped on them.

Oh, and the current Return On Investment(ROI) on AI is about -80%, someone is going to come for their money back - real soon!

Its a Wall Street Bubble.

AFAIC.

@Avoca I started with frigate. Wrong, but at least it told me that there was no E in the answer.
Having worked on Naval Comms systems for 40+ years I knew of no current warship class name which did not contain an E.
Then the Penny, Groschen, Dime, ... dropped and I started thinking generically!😉
BTW: the Lubber line has made it's 3rd or fourth appearance in Qotd.
In fact the frequency of of repeat questions has dramatically increased recently, taking the challenge (and thus the fun)
out of the whole exercise.😒 Unless one simply regards it as a memory test!

We have had quite a lot of repeats just lately.🙂

I have been watching a series on TV just lately, called Ai Decrypted. The experts are all warning that Ai will soon become " Super Ai " and will take over everything and we won't be able to switch it off...

Ours is not there yet 😁☺....

But these experts say that in a few years it will become a threat to our civilisation.

onyer is too formal, its onya!

As in, "g'day" - "good onya mate".

Spoken, preferrably with a 'stubby'(beer) in one hand with the other down your trousers scratching your 'wedding tackle'!

The first (and all-time classic) Mad Max movie dialog was in strine. The American International Pictures release was dubbed in, but you can still see the original "strine" version on certain dvd's. 😉
